CGK Reddy, whom everyone in the newspaper world and printing industry would recall well, was instrumental in soliciting the support of many leading newspapers in India who founded RIND and RIND Survey. As the then Director of the Research Institute for Newspaper Development (RIND) and Editor of RIND Survey, Reddy with the help of Anandabazar Patrika, The Hindu, Malayala Manorama, Deccan Herald, Nai Dunia, Andhra Patrika and Gujarat Samachar, built a sizeable nucleus of funds and thus RIND came into existence, registered under the Registration of Societies Act. The year 2001 was memorable in the history of RIND Survey. The Indian Newspaper Society (INS), New Delhi recognized the services of RIND Survey to the newspaper industry and decided to subscribe to the magazine for all its member publications. This arrangement is happily continuing till today and RIND Survey expresses its grateful thanks to the present and past Presidents and Executive Committee Members of INS. At about the same time during 2001, Ifra, the world’s leading organization for newspaper and media publishing with more than 3000 members in more than 80 countries chose RIND Survey as its Associate in India and is regularly providing an eight-page colour feature every month. Right from the very first issue of RIND Survey that comprised of a mere twelve pages to the latest issue, the newspaper industry can vouch for its relevance and timely information |
